Our Association supports the Visit Isle of Man commissioned Occupancy Survey through Destination Research which aims to provide a statistical overview of the performance of the Island’s accommodation industry throughout the year. The team are building valuable data. However, the reports are only as good as the sample size so the Association would like to support the recent call by Visit Isle of Man for more accommodation providers to come forward to contribute to this valuable research, the results of which ensure that NO single contributor is identifiable.

Destination Research will email you monthly to complete a short online occupancy form, giving details of the number of guests you have received and the occupancy rate achieved.

Why should I take part?

Destination Research will send you monthly results showing how accommodation businesses have performed across the Island. The results are broken down by type of business, quality star rating and the four geographical areas (Port Erin & the South, Douglas & the East, Ramsey & the North and Peel & the West).

There is no cost to take part in the survey, which ensures that the reports are representative of the whole industry and provides reliable insight benefiting everyone in the sector. The Visit Isle of Man team are able to track and predict key visitor trends to highlight growth and development opportunities. You have the opportunity to benchmark your performance against that of the wider industry. Understanding the industry’s occupancy levels will also help with your business planning.

Does Visit Isle of Man see my individual data?

Complete confidentiality is ensured for participating establishments, with all data held by Destination Research in the strictest confidence. Visit Isle of Man and other contributors to the survey do not at any time have access to your individual results; we all receive the same compiled report that you do.
